You should normally hold a good honours degree in any subject, or a professional qualification deemed to be of equivalent standing.

Or

Significant management experience and a substantial record of achievement. Candidates meeting this criteria may not have previously studied at university.

In addition to graduate status, part-time students will be expected to have a level of work experience. The evidence will be assessed on an individual basis and should be supported by employer references.

Students should produce copies of certificates, full CVs preferably in EuroFormat, and passport-size photos.

Module 1: Introduction to Financial Management

Module 2: Financial Accounting

Topics include the accounting cycle, journal entries, ledgers, and financial reporting standards. The module emphasizes understanding balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Module 3: Managerial Accounting
This module focuses on managerial accounting techniques used for internal decision-making. Students will learn about cost behavior, cost analysis, budgeting, and performance evaluation. Topics include cost-volume-profit analysis, budgeting processes, and variance analysis to support management decisions.

Module 4: Financial Analysis and Planning
Students will gain skills in financial analysis and planning, including techniques for evaluating financial performance and developing financial plans. Topics include financial ratio analysis, trend analysis, and financial forecasting. The module covers how to use financial data to make informed business decisions and plan for future growth.

Module 5: Investment Management
This module covers the principles of investment management, including portfolio theory, asset allocation, and investment strategies. Students will learn about different types of investments, such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, and how to analyze and manage investment risk. The module emphasizes building and managing investment portfolios.

Module 6: Financial Risk Management
Students will explore techniques for identifying, assessing, and managing financial risks. Topics include risk management frameworks, hedging strategies, and financial instruments used for risk mitigation. The module covers how to develop risk management plans and strategies to protect financial assets.

Students will learn about taxation principles and compliance requirements for individuals and businesses. Topics include tax planning, tax reporting, and understanding tax laws and regulations. The module covers strategies for minimizing tax liabilities and ensuring compliance with tax authorities.

Module 9: Audit and Assurance
This module explores auditing and assurance practices, including the principles of internal and external auditing. Students will learn about audit planning, risk assessment, and audit reporting. The module emphasizes the role of audits in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

Module 10: Capstone Project
The capstone project allows students to apply their financial management and accounting knowledge to a real-world scenario. Students will develop and present a comprehensive financial analysis and management plan, including financial statements, budgeting, investment analysis, and risk management strategies. The project will be reviewed and evaluated by a panel of experts.
