You should normally hold a good honours degree in any subject, or a professional qualification deemed to be of equivalent standing.

Or

Significant management experience and a substantial record of achievement. Candidates meeting this criteria may not have previously studied at university.

In addition to graduate status, part-time students will be expected to have a level of work experience. The evidence will be assessed on an individual basis and should be supported by employer references.

Students should produce copies of certificates, full CVs preferably in EuroFormat, and passport-size photos.

Module 1: Introduction to Project Management
This module introduces the fundamental concepts and methodologies of project management. Students will learn about the project lifecycle, key terminology, and the roles and responsibilities of a project manager. The module covers essential frameworks such as PMBOK and Agile, providing a foundation for managing projects effectively.

Module 2: Project Planning and Scheduling
In this module, students will delve into project planning techniques, including scope definition, work breakdown structures (WBS), and creating detailed project schedules. Topics include Gantt charts, Critical Path Method (CPM), and project management software tools. Students will learn how to develop and manage a project schedule to ensure timely completion.

Module 3: Risk Management and Quality Control
This module focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks. Students will learn about risk management frameworks, risk assessment techniques, and strategies for minimizing risk impact. Additionally, the module covers quality control principles, including setting quality standards, conducting inspections, and implementing continuous improvement processes.

Module 4: Budgeting and Financial Management
Students will explore the financial aspects of project management, including budgeting, cost estimation, and financial tracking. Topics include cost control techniques, variance analysis, and managing project finances to ensure that projects are completed within budget constraints. The module also covers financial reporting and forecasting.

Module 5: Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management
This module emphasizes the importance of leadership and stakeholder management in project success. Students will learn about team dynamics, leadership styles, and strategies for effective communication and conflict resolution. The module also covers stakeholder identification, engagement, and management to ensure alignment and support throughout the project.

Module 6: Procurement and Contract Management
In this module, students will learn about the procurement process, including sourcing, selecting, and managing vendors and contractors. Topics include contract negotiation, contract types, and managing contractual relationships. The module also covers procurement strategies and the role of procurement in project success.

Module 7: Project Execution and Monitoring
This module focuses on executing and monitoring project activities to ensure they align with the project plan. Students will learn about project execution techniques, performance measurement, and monitoring project progress. The module covers tools and techniques for tracking project milestones, managing changes, and ensuring project objectives are met.

Module 8: Project Closure and Evaluation
In this module, students will learn about the project closure process, including finalizing deliverables, conducting project reviews, and closing out project contracts. Topics include evaluating project performance, capturing lessons learned, and ensuring project outcomes meet stakeholder expectations. The module emphasizes the importance of thorough project closure for future success.

Module 9: Advanced Project Management Techniques
This module covers advanced project management techniques and methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Lean project management. Students will explore how to apply these techniques in various project scenarios and learn about emerging trends and best practices in project management.

Module 10: Capstone Project
The capstone project allows students to apply their project management knowledge to a real-world scenario. Students will develop and manage a comprehensive project plan, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. The project will be presented to a panel of experts for evaluation and feedback.
